DRAUF
DRAUF_AT 2009_Mockumentary_fiktion view here Harald, 24, addicted to drugs and now in a drug substitution program, is expected to pass his experience on to other young people. In DRAUF this production of a documentary example is complicated in a number of ways: Firstly, Harald is not an authentic figure; he’s a fictional condensation from interviews with several different young addicts given a body and a voice by artist Ingo Leindecker. Secondly, the film illuminates the process through which a social “case study” must be created from the disparate memories, attitudes and emotions described. An episodic drama of addiction problems with the father, frustration in the learned profession, weekends of partying with the circle of friends who serve as life saver and firm foundation?that gradually takes shape in the exchange between Harald’s mumbled, groping explanations for his actions and the interpretations Music offers in the style of a social worker. The interview scenario, an afternoon in a pedal boat on Steyr River. In this way Music’s “subsidized film” commissioned by the project team flow akut, which works on addiction and prevention in the Steyr region?does its theme justice through its playful style.
